In Central Minnesota, when someone mentions Old Tyme music, one of the first names that must come to mind is Stan Brenny.

In the early 1930's Stan packed his bags, and put on his walking shoes and headed for Chicago, Illinois to learn to play the concertina from the masters. After leaving Chicago, he returned to his hometown of Holdingford, Minnesota, where he formed a famly band made up of his brothers and sisters. When the family starting going its own way, Stan recruited a couple of local musicians and continued playing for wedding receptions, house parties, or any occasion that called for a concertina band. He continued getting bigger and better, until the present day sound of "Stan Brenny and His Band, 1971 Style."

Stan's slogan for the band is, "It's not the best, but as good as the rest." Now let's sit back and enjoy, or better yet, get up and dance to the music of Stan Brenny's first album.

We also wish to extend our sincere thanks to the Moose Lodge, Waite Park, Minnesota, for providing the facilities which made this recording possible.
