Tony and Betty Wolf and their Deutschmeisters Orchestra have long been a favorite of Midwestern polka fans. They have released 19 recordings over the years. Deutchmeisters and Friends was recorded in the mid 70’s featuring some of their students playing their concertinas, as well as some great original selections from earlier recordings of their orchestra. It is one of the later recordings they have released. Sadly, Tony passed away in 1980. Betty continued to carry on the tradition of Deutchmeisters music, and married John Buermann in September of 1988, an accomplished concertina player in his own right. They still reside in the Cold Spring, Minnesota area. At 85 years of age. Betty hasn’t lost a beat as she continues playing her piano to John’s concertina solos.
“No Beer In Heaven” was the fifth recording by Tony and Betty Wolf, performing with some of the most talented Central Minnesota musicians of the era. It is a recording that has been remastered to CD to preserve the quality of the fine musicianship presented on this great album.
